Kuwait Highlights its Expertise in Elderly Care at UN Event in Geneva

Kuwait shared its expertise in elderly care during an event held alongside the 59th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva. Dr. Jassem Al-Kandari, Assistant Undersecretary for Social Care at the Ministry of Social Affairs, emphasized Kuwait’s commitment to participating in international forums focused on elderly care and exchanging knowledge in this field. He highlighted that elderly care is a core component of Kuwait’s social policies and is similarly prioritized across the GCC region. Dr. Al-Kandari also noted that Kuwait has implemented sustainable national and regional strategies to meet the needs of the elderly. He pointed out that Kuwait’s efforts in elderly care date back to 1955 when progressive legislation was introduced to establish a dedicated department for this purpose.
