IFRC praises Kuwait’s role in crisis management, aiding distressed people

KUWAIT, July 2 (KUNA) — The Deputy Regional Director of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), Christian Cortez, on Wednesday commended the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) for its efforts in managing crises and providing assistance to people in the Gaza Strip as well as countries affected by wars and natural disasters.

This statement was made in an interview with KUNA following his visit to KRCS headquarters and a meeting with Chairman Ambassador Khaled Al-Maghames.

Cortez emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration between IFRC and KRCS in humanitarian and relief efforts. He also discussed developments in humanitarian work within the region, including training for volunteers and staff members of the organization.

Ambassador Al-Maghames, for his part, affirmed KRCS’s commitment to continuing coordination and cooperation with IFRC to improve the effectiveness of urgent humanitarian responses and address the needs of vulnerable populations globally.
