Egyptian Transport and Industry Minister Discusses Economic and Investment Cooperation with Kuwait

Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait, welcomed Engineer Kamal El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport of Egypt, during his visit to Kuwait. Present at the meeting were Dr. Noura Al-Musharrah, Kuwait’s Minister of Public Works and Transport, Ambassador Osama Shaltout, Egypt’s Ambassador to Kuwait, and Nora Abdel Hady, Deputy Head of the Egyptian diplomatic mission in Kuwait.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Crown Prince of Kuwait expressed appreciation for the Egyptian delegation’s visit, praising Egypt’s supportive role in various Arab issues and the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. He emphasized the importance of ideas and initiatives aimed at strengthening Arab unity, despite regional challenges. He described the visit as a reflection of the strong Kuwaiti-Egyptian brotherly ties that serve as a foundation for cooperation between the two nations. He also highlighted the mutual commitment of both countries to expanding collaboration across various sectors.

For his part, the Egyptian Minister conveyed greetings from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, expressing appreciation for the opportunity to meet. He praised the historical and strong relations between the two countries, referencing recent high-level visits, including President El-Sisi’s visit to Kuwait in April 2025, the Prime Minister’s visit in February 2025, and the Emir of Kuwait’s first visit to Egypt in April 2024.

The minister reiterated President El-Sisi’s directive to enhance cooperation with Kuwait across various sectors, particularly given the strong historical ties. He outlined developments in the Egyptian economy, efforts to improve the investment climate, and major national projects implemented by Egypt, especially in the transport sector. He also highlighted initiatives by the ministries of transport and industry aimed at modernizing these sectors. He noted that a delegation of 17 Egyptian companies specializing in infrastructure and large-scale projects is eager to collaborate with Kuwaiti counterparts on development and infrastructure projects, offering competitive pricing, high-quality standards, and timely execution in line with Kuwaiti priorities and criteria.

He concluded by emphasizing the numerous investment opportunities in Egypt, particularly in maritime ports, dry ports, logistics zones, and the industrial sector, which could serve as a strong foundation for future cooperation.
