Dr. Hisham Ibrahim, a professor of finance and investment, commented on Egypt’s inclusion in a list of the top 10 emerging economies expected to rise by 2030, as ranked by the international institution Ranked Globe. He emphasized that this recognition reflects the real economic progress currently taking place within the country.
During a phone interview on the show “Al Hayat Al Youm” on Al Hayat TV, Dr. Hisham noted that this is not the first time Egypt has been recognized as a promising economy. He pointed out that a major global bank previously ranked Egypt among the top eight emerging economies worldwide.
He highlighted Egypt’s economic diversity, which enables resilience despite regional geopolitical and economic challenges, allowing the country to continue attracting both foreign and domestic investments.
One key indicator supporting this positive outlook is the strong performance of remittances from Egyptians abroad, which have surged over the past 11 months, reaching historic levels. According to Dr. Hisham, this demonstrates the confidence of Egyptians overseas in the country’s economic recovery and its potential for sustainable growth.
