KUWAIT, Aug 19 (KUNA) — The Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC) announced on Tuesday that it has secured a top-tier position in the Tokyo Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Flag State Performance List for the period 2022–2024, marking a significant achievement that underscores Kuwait’s strong standing in global maritime safety standards.
In a statement provided to KUNA, KOTC revealed that during the evaluation period, 30 inspections were conducted on vessels flying the Kuwaiti flag, with zero deficiencies identified. This flawless record placed Kuwait among the highest-performing flag states under Port State Control (PSC) protocols.
The accomplishment is largely credited to KOTC’s operational rigor, as its fleet constitutes the bulk of Kuwait’s flagged commercial ships.
