Hanna Andersen, Assistant Destination Development Officer for the City of Waco, noted a dramatic increase in lodging demand compared to the previous year. ‘Our hotel occupancy is far surpassing last year’s numbers, and we’re seeing a similar spike next weekend with the Auburn football game,’ she said. n nCurrent data indicates that hotel occupancy in Waco has reached 96%, nearly doubling the 48% recorded during the same period last year. n nNext weekend, when the Baylor Bears face off against the Auburn Tigers, occupancy is projected to hit 85%, up from 40% in the prior year. WACO, Texas (KWTX) – Waco is the place to be the next couple of weekends, specifically McLane Stadium. n nCross Canadian Ragweed is reuniting for a sold out show at McLane Stadium Saturday evening. n nOver 40,000 people are expected to file into the stadium for “The Boys From Oklahoma Tour.” n nIn terms of hotel availability, we’re told they’re at capacity! n nStaff with the city of Waco say they use software that gives advanced booking data and share what it looks like for this weekend. n n“Our occupancy is blowing last year out of the water in terms of our hotels, what we can expect and we actually see a similar rise and demand next weekend as well with the Auburn game that will be here,” Hanna Andersen, City of Waco’s Assistant Destination Development Officer said. n nData shared with us shows occupancy up to 96% in Waco hotels compared to this time last year at 48%. n nNext weekend, the Baylor Bears will take on the Auburn Tigers at the football stadium.
