Financial markets analyst Mazen Abu Ismail stated that gold prices are continuing to hit historic highs, driven by several global factors, including aggressive purchases by central banks worldwide, a weakening US dollar, and widespread uncertainty in the global economy.
Abu Ismail explained during an appearance on the program “Araqim wa Aswaq” broadcast on Alzaheri Channel that the yellow metal has become the top safe-haven asset for investors amid ongoing economic and geopolitical crises. He noted that gold surpassing $3,960 per ounce in today’s trading brings it very close to breaking the $4,000 threshold.
He added that the supportive factors for gold are still in play, particularly amid growing concerns over a potential US government shutdown and persistent global economic slowdown, both of which strengthen the upward momentum for the precious metal. According to his assessment, gold could continue climbing to as high as $4,500 per ounce in the coming phase.
