Egyptian Minister Emphasizes Strong Private Sector as Key to Lebanon’s Economic Revival

Dr. Sherif Farouk, Egypt’s Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, took part in the fourth dialogue session of the “Beirut One” conference held in Beirut, Lebanon, which was themed “The Private Sector – The Engine of Lebanon’s Future.” The event gathered Lebanese ministers, officials, and private sector leaders such as Hanin, Lebanon’s Minister of Social Development, Muhammad Shuqayr, Chairman of the Lebanese Chamber of Commerce, and banking expert Samir Assaf. n nDuring his speech, Dr. Farouk extended greetings from Egypt’s political leadership and government to President Joseph Aoun and the Lebanese people. He commended the Lebanese president’s remarks during the opening session, stating that correctly identifying economic issues marks the proper beginning of reform efforts. n nHe pointed out that countries globally strive to attract investments by offering incentives and guarantees to secure capital. A strong banking sector, he emphasized, is fundamental for fostering trust and enabling commercial exchange.
