Egypt and Azerbaijan Co-Chair Preparatory Meeting for Sixth Joint Economic Committee

The Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation led an expanded preparatory meeting with representatives from various Egyptian ministries and national agencies in anticipation of the sixth session of the Egypt-Azerbaijan Joint Committee for Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation, to be hosted in Cairo next week. n nThe committee will be co-chaired by Dr. Rania El-Mashat, Egypt’s Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, and Rashad Nabiyev, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Digital Development and Transport. n nDuring expert-level discussions, both sides reviewed a broad range of priority cooperation areas, including trade, investment, culture, information and communications technology, small and medium enterprises, transportation, higher education, healthcare, agriculture, tourism and antiquities, youth and sports, petroleum, civil aviation, environment, electricity, and renewable energy. n nThe committee’s work is based on the Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation Agreement signed between the two nations in April 1994, which established the institutional foundation for bilateral economic relations. Five previous sessions have been held alternately in Cairo and Baku, with the first convened in Baku in October 2002. n nEgyptian-Azerbaijani relations have seen continuous development, reflecting mutual leadership commitment to expanding collaboration, particularly amid increasing alignment in strategic outlooks and growing high-level reciprocal visits. n nThe upcoming sixth session is seen as a key opportunity to deepen cooperation in shared economic and developmental sectors.
