The journalist also remarked that the recent G20 summit held in South Africa marked the first time the gathering took place on African soil. He stressed that Egypt’s promising economic trajectory justifies its inclusion in top-tier international economic forums.
Discussing Africa’s vast potential, he highlighted the continent’s rich agricultural and water resources, livestock, rainfall, labor force, raw materials, and mineral wealth—describing them as an inexhaustible treasure. However, he warned that internal conflicts and widespread instability across many African nations are undermining this potential. Additionally, competition among global powers operating within the region further exacerbates poverty and underdevelopment.
Following his arrival at the summit, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly engaged in a series of high-level meetings, including talks with UN Secretary-General António Guterres and IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva. These discussions, attended by Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, focused on advancing agreements and partnerships between Egypt and various UN agencies and affiliated organizations.
