Turkish Minister Mehmet Şimşek praised the United Arab Emirates for its rapid development journey, describing it as a globally admired model achieved in a short time. He expressed confidence that this upward trajectory will gain even greater momentum in the coming period. Turkey views the UAE as a vital strategic partner, with bilateral political relations currently at a very strong level. Thanks to frequent high-level communication and effective institutional mechanisms, cooperation between the two nations has become increasingly results-oriented.
He highlighted the importance Ankara places on diversifying and deepening economic ties. The Joint Economic Committee, which he co-chairs, stands out as one of the most dynamic and comprehensive platforms for such collaboration. Through this framework, both countries are exploring broad opportunities spanning trade, investment, tourism, agriculture, energy, and digital transformation.
The Turkish minister expressed eagerness to host the next committee meeting, reaffirming Turkey’s commitment to turning shared interests into tangible projects. He stressed that Turkey and the UAE complement each other well in the rapidly evolving global economy.
He noted that the UAE’s vision for economic diversification, accelerated energy transition, enhanced logistics networks, and focus on advanced technologies aligns naturally with Turkey’s strong industrial and service infrastructure, skilled workforce, and regional supply chain capabilities.
Şimşek emphasized regional integration as a critical component of economic resilience amid rising global uncertainty and protectionist trends. Turkey’s close ties with countries in the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa present significant potential for expanding joint trade with the UAE.
He added that negotiations on a free trade agreement between Turkey and the Gulf Cooperation Council are expected to conclude soon. Ankara is ready to deepen cooperation in strategic areas including renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, defense, artificial intelligence, financial technology, and clean tech.
Increased mutual investments, joint research and development ventures, and future collaborations with other nations are expected to enhance the global competitiveness of both economies. He believes the economic partnership between Turkey and the UAE will gain fresh momentum in the near future.
Reflecting on progress made so far, he said the achievements in a short span demonstrate the two nations’ ability to accomplish more together. With shared leadership vision, he is confident they will continue taking meaningful steps that contribute not only to national prosperity but also to peace, well-being, and development across a broader geographic region.

تركيا تتحدث عن شراكة استراتيجية مع الإمارات لتعزيز التكامل الاقتصادي
وأشاد شيمشك بما حققته الإمارات من قصة نجاح وتنمية “تُعََدّ نموذجاً يُحتذى عالميا في فترة زمنية قصيرة”، معتقداً أنّ “هذا الصعود المذهل سيستمر بوتيرة أقوى في المرحلة المقبلة. الإمارات شريك مهم وصديق استراتيجي لتركيا. علاقاتنا السياسية اليوم في مستوى قوي جدا. ومع كثافة الاتصالات رفيعة المستوى والآليات المؤسسية الفعّالة، أصبح التعاون بين بلدينا أكثر تركيزاً على النتائج”.
وأكد أنهم يولون أهمية كبيرة لتنويع وتعميق العلاقات الاقتصادية الثنائية. وتابع: “اللجنة الاقتصادية المشتركة، التي أتولى رئاستها المشتركة، تُعد واحدة من أكثر المنصات ديناميكية وشمولاً في هذا الإطار. ومن خلال هذه اللجنة، نمتلك فرص عمل واسعة تشمل التجارة والاستثمار والسياحة والزراعة والطاقة والتحول الرقمي”.
ولفت الوزير التركي إلى تطلع بلاده بفارغ الصبر إلى استضافة الاجتماع القادم للجنة، مؤكداً عزمهم على تحويل المصالح المشتركة إلى مشاريع ملموسة، مشدداً على أن تركيا والإمارات تبرزان كشريكين قويين يكمل كلاهما الآخر في الاقتصاد العالمي سريع التحول.
وأردف: “رؤية الإمارات لتنويع الاقتصاد، وتسريع التحول في الطاقة، وتعزيز شبكات اللوجستيات، والتركيز على التقنيات المتقدمة، تتوافق بشكل طبيعي مع البنية الصناعية والخدمية القوية في تركيا، ومع مهارات قوتها العاملة، وقدراتها في سلسلة التوريد الإقليمية”.
وقال شيمشك إن بلاده تعتبر التكامل الإقليمي أحد أهم عناصر الصمود الاقتصادي في ظل تزايد حالة عدم اليقين عالمياً وتصاعد النزعات الحمائية، لافتاً إلى أن علاقات تركيا الوثيقة مع بلدان الشرق الأوسط وآسيا الوسطى وإفريقيا تشكل فرصة مهمة لتعزيز التجارة المشتركة مع الإمارات.
وأكمل: “في هذا الإطار، نتوقع اختتام مفاوضات اتفاقية التجارة الحرة بين تركيا ومجلس التعاون الخليجي في أقرب وقت ممكن. نحن مستعدون لتعزيز التعاون في مجالات استراتيجية مثل الطاقة المتجددة، والصناعات المتقدمة، والدفاع، والذكاء الصناعي، والتقنيات المالية، والتكنولوجيا النظيفة”.
وأوضح أن زيادة الاستثمارات المتبادلة، والمشاريع المشتركة في البحث والتطوير، والتعاون المستقبلي مع دول أخرى، سيُعزز القدرة التنافسية العالمية للبلدين، معرباً عن اعتقاده بأن الشراكة الاقتصادية بين تركيا والإمارات ستكتسب زخماً جديداً في الفترة المقبلة.
وأضاف: “ما قطعناه من مسافة في فترة قصيرة يؤكد قدرتنا على تحقيق مزيد معاً”، مؤكداً أنه “بفضل الرؤية المشتركة لقيادتنا، نؤمن بأننا سنواصل اتخاذ خطوات مهمة، تسهم ليس فقط في ازدهار بلدينا، بل أيضاً في إحلال السلام والرفاه والتنمية في منطقتنا وفي رقعة جغرافية أوسع”.
