Woman, 40, caught with explosives at Tesla dealership in Colorado, police say

A 40-year-old woman, identified as Lucy Grace Nelson, was arrested after being found with explosives at a Tesla dealership in Colorado. Authorities reported that Nelson faces multiple felony charges, including the use of explosives during a felony, criminal mischief, and attempted criminal acts. The arrest followed an extensive investigation initiated at the end of January after the Loveland Tesla dealership was vandalized several times. Incendiary devices were discovered on the scene during these incidents. On Monday evening, Nelson returned to the dealership with additional incendiary devices and materials linked to vandalism but was apprehended before causing further damage. According to an affidavit, the dealership was vandalized five times, starting with a Molotov cocktail attack on January 29. Subsequent incidents involved spray-painted graffiti and more Molotov cocktails. A security guard hired by Tesla reported chasing someone off the property on February 11. A judge set a $100,000 cash surety bond for Nelson, and federal charges are likely to follow as the Loveland Police Department collaborates with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the LPD Tip Line or Larimer County Crime Stoppers. — news from 13WHAM-TV
