On Saturday afternoon, tens of thousands of users experienced difficulties accessing various Microsoft programs. Microsoft 365 Status reported on X that they were investigating an issue affecting users’ ability to access Outlook features and services. After 3:30 p.m. ET, the number of outage reports surged. Over 37,000 individuals reported issues with Outlook, while approximately 24,000 reported problems with Microsoft 365, according to Downdetector. Around 150 users indicated their Teams accounts were down. The outages were most concentrated in the New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles areas.
Social media platform X was flooded with complaints from users unable to access their Outlook emails, raising concerns of a global Microsoft outage. Despite this, Microsoft had not reported any issues on its service health update page and did not respond to requests for comment.
