Beliefs on the Advancements and Economic Impact of Artificial Intelligence

I hold several beliefs regarding artificial intelligence: Over recent years, AI systems have begun surpassing humans in various domains such as math, coding, and medical diagnosis, improving daily. It is likely that by 2026 or 2027, or possibly even this year, one or more AI companies will announce the creation of an artificial general intelligence (A.G.I.), defined as a general-purpose AI system capable of nearly all human cognitive tasks. When A.G.I. is announced, there will be debates over definitions and arguments about its authenticity, but these will largely be irrelevant because the broader truth remains: humanity is losing its monopoly on human-level intelligence, transitioning into a world with powerful AI systems. Over the next decade, advanced AI will generate trillions in economic value and shift political and military power towards nations controlling it. Governments and corporations already recognize this, as shown by their significant investments in AI development. — news from The New York Times
