BYD’s 5-minute charging breakthrough jolts EV market

GUANGZHOU — Chinese electric vehicle maker BYD’s shares have reached all-time highs following the unveiling of new battery technology that charges in just five minutes. BYD’s Hong Kong-listed shares rose up to 6% on Tuesday, closing at 401.40 Hong Kong dollars. They continued to climb on Wednesday, reaching over 4% in morning trading at around HK$418.
