Company Behind Edible Arrangements Enters Cannabis Industry With New Hemp Delivery Service—And A Different Kind Of Edible

Edible Brands, the company behind Edible Arrangements known for its ornate fruit arrangements, is venturing into the cannabis market by launching a new delivery service for hemp products. These include hemp gummies, drinks, and supplements available for purchase through a new site, Edibles.com.
Thomas Winstanley, the executive vice president of Edibles.com, stated in a press release that “Edible Brands’ wellness-driven approach aligns with the evolving future of this category.” He added that their infrastructure and nationwide presence position them to accelerate industry growth.
The hemp market, legalized under the 2018 Farm Bill, faces challenges as more states and Congress push to regulate businesses selling intoxicating cannabinoid products. Edibles.com currently does not service California due to a recent emergency order banning hemp-derived products containing any THC. The company plans to expand to Texas, Florida, and Georgia, depending on state laws.
Somia Farid Silber, CEO of Edible Brands, noted that the hemp industry is rapidly evolving but consumers still face challenges with perception, education, and accessibility. Edible Brands aims to make premium, vetted products easily accessible.
Jake Bullock, CEO of Cann, a cannabis drink company included in Edibles.com’s offerings, called this a defining moment for the hemp industry. The company also plans to disrupt the brick-and-mortar retail sector by launching a limited franchising program starting with a flagship store in Atlanta.
