She characterized him as “funny” and “down to Earth” but claimed that he wanted to keep their baby a secret for safety. The romance began online, with Musk initiating contact through direct messages. St Clair, who was working for a conservative satirical website at the time, said that their relationship started with interactions on X, and Musk eventually invited her to San Francisco for an interview. After the interview, Musk invited her to Rhode Island, and their romance took off from there. When St Clair became pregnant, she was asked to keep it a secret, leading to a period of isolation.
