Orthodox Jewish Passenger Sues United Airlines Over Bathroom Incident

An Orthodox Jewish passenger, Yisroel Liebb, is suing United Airlines and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security following an incident on a flight from Tulum, Mexico, to Houston. Liebb claims that a United Airlines pilot forcibly removed him from an airplane bathroom while he was experiencing constipation, exposing his genitalia to other passengers. Liebb and a fellow Orthodox Jewish traveler, Jacob Sebbag, were taken off the plane in handcuffs by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers upon landing and missed their connecting flight to New York City. They were paraded through an airport terminal, placed in holding cells, and had their luggage searched. United Airlines has declined to comment on the lawsuit. Messages seeking comment were left for the Department of Homeland Security and lawyers for Liebb and Sebbag. — news from The Associated Press
