Tesla Recalls Nearly All Cybertrucks Over Stainless Steel Panels Falling Off

Tesla is recalling nearly all of its futuristic-style Cybertrucks due to an issue with an exterior trim panel falling off, creating hazardous driving conditions. This marks the eighth recall for the model. The recall affects approximately 46,000 vehicles manufactured between November 13, 2023, and February 27. According to a report filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, only about 1 percent of these vehicles are defective, but Tesla decided to recall all of them as a precaution. As of March 14, Tesla identified 151 warranty claims related to the trim panel issue, though no collisions, fatalities, or injuries have been reported. Tesla has informed drivers that they may continue using their vehicles until contacted for a service appointment when parts become available in their regions. The issue involves a stainless steel panel, known as the cant rail, which becomes unstuck at the adhesive joint. — news from The New York Times
