BYD Co. has surpassed the $100 billion sales mark last year, outpacing Elon Musk’s Tesla Inc. in terms of revenue. The Chinese automaker has captured global attention with its diverse lineup of electric and hybrid cars equipped with advanced technological features. Based in Shenzhen, BYD reported a Bloomberg Terminal revenue of 777 billion yuan (\$107 billion) for the 12 months ended December 31, marking a 29% increase according to a filing on Monday. This figure exceeded the estimated 766 billion yuan. In comparison, Tesla’s 2024 revenue was \$97.7 billion. Additionally, BYD’s net income saw a 34% year-on-year rise to 40.3 billion yuan, surpassing analyst estimates of 39.5 billion yuan.
