Georgia Big Lots Locations Set to Reopen in May

Big Lots is set to reopen six locations in Georgia in May, following the company’s emergence from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and its acquisition by Variety Wholesalers. This is part of a broader plan to relaunch 55 stores across the U.S. by early June. Nine stores in six states reopened on April 10 as the initial phase of the comeback. The CEO of Variety Wholesalers, Lisa Seigies, expressed excitement about bringing back the Big Lots brand with more deals, famous brands, and a new apparel department for families. The Georgia locations scheduled to reopen on May 1 include Fort Oglethorpe, Cornelia, Valdosta, Augusta, Waycross, and Brunswick. Other states included in the reopening plan are Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Alabama.
