KFC, part of Yum Brands, is relocating its U.S. corporate headquarters from Louisville, Kentucky, to Plano, Texas. The move will affect around 100 corporate employees, who will transition to Plano within the next six months. Yum Brands CEO David Gibbs stated that the relocation aims to consolidate teams to better serve customers, franchisees, employees, and shareholders. Yum will maintain offices in Louisville, where it will also establish a $1 million endowment for the University of Louisville’s College of Business and build a flagship KFC restaurant. Meanwhile, Taco Bell and Habit Burger & Grill will remain headquartered in Irvine, California. The decision follows a trend of companies, including tech firms like SpaceX and Meta, relocating operations to Texas. Oracle, for instance, plans to establish its global headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee, after previously moving from Silicon Valley to Austin, Texas. — news from CBS News
