In the wake of Monday’s accident involving Delta Connection Flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air, Delta CEO Ed Bastian appeared on CBS Mornings on Wednesday. He expressed gratitude for the crew’s professionalism and highlighted their heroic actions during the incident. “Our Endeavor crew performed heroically, but also as expected,” said Bastian. “Safety is deeply embedded into our system.”
Bastian emphasized that rigorous crew training and a steadfast commitment to safety make flying one of the safest modes of transportation. “While U.S. airlines are highly competitive, safety is one area where we do not compete,” he added. “We collaborate and learn from each other to ensure the highest safety standards.”
Delta teams are actively supporting customers, employees, and their families affected by the incident. Of the 21 injured passengers initially hospitalized, only one remains in the hospital as of Wednesday morning.
