Milan Kovac, the head of Tesla’s Optimus humanoid robot program, is reportedly leaving the company, according to Bloomberg News. Tesla CEO Elon Musk had previously announced plans to operate thousands of Optimus robots in factories by year’s end, aiming to scale production to millions annually. Kovac, who has worked at Tesla for nearly a decade, initially contributed as a top engineer on the Autopilot team before transitioning to lead the Optimus project in 2022. Ashok Elluswamy, vice president of Tesla’s AI software division, will now oversee the Optimus program.
