A strategic collaboration has been established between the Business Coordinating Council (CCE) of La Laguna, Fomento Económico (FOMEC), and the Civic Council of Institutions (CCI) to strengthen the region’s economy and position it as a key development hub in northern Mexico. During their first joint meeting, attended by Coahuila’s Secretary of Economy Luis Eduardo Olivares Martínez, the group unveiled the La Laguna-Piedras Negras road connectivity project. This initiative aims to enhance regional infrastructure to meet anticipated economic growth. The alliance focuses on improving road connectivity and integrating La Laguna into the nearshoring-driven investment landscape, making it more competitive for attracting businesses. The CCE Laguna is also fostering partnerships with business, educational, and civil society organizations to promote economic and social development in the metropolitan area.
