TIJUANA.- In an effort to enhance the recognition of national products, the Baja California Economic Corridor is promoting the ‘Made in Mexico’ certification, a seal that verifies the quality of goods and services produced in the country. The coordinator of the Economic Corridor of Well-being in Baja California and Baja California Sur, Lic. Jorge Figueroa, explained that this strategy represents a comprehensive commitment to strengthening industry, commerce, and services, supported by an identity of origin that transcends borders. “We want to recognize with a quality certificate all these companies, products, and services that we have in the country, which are, as such, made in Mexico,” expressed Figueroa, who noted that this program was relaunched by the Ministry of Economy. The initiative includes the voluntary participation of companies of all sizes, who are guided through the registration, validation, and compliance process with technical criteria, aiming to consolidate the country brand as a mark of excellence. The response from the business community in Baja California has been positive and enthusiastic, and soon the first local companies to obtain the official certification as part of this national campaign will be announced. The federal official emphasized that this campaign will remain active throughout the administration and is part of an economic boost policy led by the Secretary of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard, who decided to revive this institutional tool. In addition to improving the perception of national products, certified companies are expected to gain access to additional benefits and new markets through strategic alliances and coordinated promotion. “We are proud of everything that is produced in Mexico, proud to say that this is being done in Baja California, this is being done in Mexico,” concluded Figueroa.
