Ministry Launches Report on Development Financing to Empower Private Sector

The Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation launched the report titled “Development Financing to Empower the Private Sector: Economic Growth and Employment” during a conference held under the patronage of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly. The event included participation from several ministers, development partners, the European Union in Egypt, international institutions, and private sector representatives. The report highlights direct and indirect financial mechanisms provided by development partners to local and foreign private sectors over the past five years. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, emphasized that enhancing private sector participation is a strategic necessity for building a resilient economy and achieving sustainable growth. The report notes that since 2020, the private sector has seen significant progress in its relations with multilateral and bilateral development partners, with development financing directed towards the private sector surpassing $4.2 billion in 2024, marking a pivotal shift in development partner strategies.
