Historical Milestones in Kuwait’s Development

On June 21, several significant events in Kuwait’s history were commemorated. In 1958, Al-Mulla Saleh Al-Mulla, a key figure as secretary to Kuwait’s 7th ruler Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah and the first director of the department of passports, passed away at the age of 80. In 1964, Kuwait held its inaugural Municipal Council election, marking a pivotal moment in its democratic journey, with Mohammad Yusuf Al-Adsani elected as chairman. The same year, the Kuwait Journalists Association was founded to promote journalism and protect journalists’ rights.
