INDIANAPOLIS, USA — The Secretariat of Economy and Innovation (SEI), through the Baja California State Institute of Entrepreneurship (IEMBC), in coordination with the Tijuana Economic Development Council (CDT), is participating in the Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC 2025) held in Indianapolis, USA. The main goal of this participation is to promote a new economic model driven by entrepreneurship as a catalyst for economic and social transformation, according to Michelle Guerrero Jaimes, Undersecretary of Economic Promotion. \n\n”Baja California’s presence at this strategic event reaffirms SEI’s commitment to strengthening the entrepreneurial culture, connecting key players in the ecosystem — including academia, the private sector, and the government — to boost initiatives with regional impact and global reach. We also aim to strengthen cooperation between public and private initiatives for the benefit of entrepreneurs in our region,” Guerrero Jaimes stated. \n\nThe official added that participating in such forums positions Baja California as a dynamic, innovative, and forward-thinking region. “Entrepreneurship is a key tool that allows us to address the social and economic challenges of our region,” she emphasized. \n\nGuerrero Jaimes also highlighted the “Tijuana Entrepreneurial Ecosystem” project, led by the CDT with support from the Baja California Business Trust (FIDEM), which seeks to scale local economic development efforts through greater international collaboration and the adoption of global best practices. \n\nDavid Flores Fraga, coordinator of IEMBC, explained that the Congress aims to democratize entrepreneurship and provide opportunities for anyone, anywhere, to start a business. It also seeks to connect key players in the ecosystem, generate synergies, inspire action, create transformative initiatives, and drive solutions to global challenges such as employment, inclusion, innovation, and sustainability. \n\n”The GEC is not just a space for sharing ideas but also for generating tools, programs, and contacts that enable entrepreneurs to learn, scale, and consolidate their projects with real impact,” Flores Fraga added. \n\nThe Baja California delegation included Aarón Victorio Escalante, executive director of the CDT; Jair Hernández, coordinator of strategic axes; Ariosto Manrique, CDT advisor; and David Flores Fraga, representing the SEI as IEMBC coordinator. \n\nThe GEC is recognized as the most relevant international forum for strengthening the global entrepreneurial ecosystem. Its 2025 edition brought together leaders from over 200 countries, united by a vision of entrepreneurship as a tool to build more innovative, inclusive, and sustainable economies. \n\n— new from Uniradio Informa
