Central Arkansas Water Drives $3.2 Billion Economic Impact Over Decade

Central Arkansas Water (CAW) has been identified as a major contributor to regional economic growth, generating $3.2 billion in total economic impact from 2015 to 2024, according to a new report by Boyette Strategic Advisors. The analysis highlights CAW’s significant role in boosting the Gross Regional Product (GRP) by $1.7 billion and creating over 6,600 jobs during the decade. Additionally, CAW’s operations, employment, and capital investments resulted in $958 million in labor income and $226 million in state and local tax revenues. “This economic impact demonstrates that Central Arkansas Water is not only a utility but also a key driver of economic vitality,” said Tad Bohannon, CEO of CAW. The utility’s contributions include $749 million in operating expenditures, $635 million in capital investments, and $1.8 billion in employment-related impacts. CAW serves more than 500,000 people across eight counties and is recognized as a leader in sustainability and water quality.
