Dr. Ayman Hassan, an economic expert, emphasized that strengthening collaboration between Egypt’s private sector and research centers is now a strategic necessity to tackle economic, social, and environmental challenges. He highlighted that Egypt’s globally competitive low-cost skilled workforce, combined with the research capabilities of scientific institutions and the financial resources of private enterprises, can be transformed into a powerful economic advantage when integrated through effective and structured partnership frameworks.
Hassan noted that international experiences show innovation alone is insufficient, as scientific findings often remain confined to laboratories without engagement from the private sector, which plays a crucial role in identifying viable economic projects, securing funding, and managing implementation. He pointed to public-private partnership (PPP) models as proven mechanisms that could be successfully adopted in Egypt.
He presented a practical PPP model during the “Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Agricultural Development” conference in May 2025, focusing on linking agricultural research with industry through the establishment of an “Agricultural Technology Transfer Unit.” This initiative aims to convert scientific outcomes into executable, economically viable, and socially sustainable ventures.
According to Hassan, this framework can be expanded across various sectors—including industry, energy, technology, and services—to ensure research and development translate into market-responsive solutions that enhance competitiveness at local, regional, and global levels. Researchers would benefit both financially and professionally while retaining their intellectual property rights.
He stressed that Egypt possesses a robust private sector and a wide network of research institutions. With strong political will, synergies between public and private entities can be fully realized across all economic domains, transforming domestic capabilities into a globally competitive force.

خبير اقتصادي: الابتكار والشراكة مفتاح مصر نحو اقتصاد مستدام
أكد الدكتور أيمن حسن، الخبير الاقتصادي، أن تعزيز التعاون بين القطاع الخاص والمراكز البحثية في مصر أصبح ضرورة استراتيجية لمواجهة التحديات الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والبيئية، مشددًا على أن الموارد البشرية المتميزة منخفضة التكلفة عالميًا، والقدرات البحثية المتاحة لدى مراكز البحوث، بالإضافة إلى الإمكانات المالية للقطاع الخاص، يمكن تحويلها إلى قوة اقتصادية تنافسية إذا تم توظيفها ضمن آليات شراكة فعّالة ومؤطرة.
وأضاف الخبير الاقتصادى، أن التجارب الدولية أثبتت أن الابتكار وحده لا يكفي، وأن نتائج البحوث العلمية تبقى حبيسة المختبر إذا لم تُدمج مع القطاع الخاص القادر على تحديد المشاريع الاقتصادية المطلوبة وتمويلها وتنفيذها وإدارتها عمليًا. وأشار إلى أن نموذج الشراكة بين القطاع العام والخاص (PPP) يمثل تجربة ناجحة يمكن تطبيقها في مصر.
وأوضح أنه قدم نموذجًا عمليًا للشراكة بين القطاعين العام والخاص خلال مؤتمر “الابتكار وريادة الأعمال نحو تنمية زراعية مستدامة” في مايو 2025، مع التركيز على ربط البحوث الزراعية بالقطاع الخاص عبر إنشاء “مركز تحرير التكنولوجيا الزراعية” (Agri Tech Transfer Unit)، لتحويل نتائج البحث العلمي إلى مشروعات قابلة للتنفيذ ومستدامة اقتصاديًا واجتماعيًا.
وأشار الدكتور أيمن حسن، إلى أن هذا النموذج يمكن تعميمه على جميع القطاعات الاقتصادية، من الصناعة والطاقة إلى التكنولوجيا والخدمات، لضمان تحويل البحث والتطوير إلى حلول عملية تلبي احتياجات السوق وتعزز القدرة التنافسية محليًا وإقليميًا ودوليًا، مع استفادة الباحثين من الناحية المادية والمعنوية وحفظ حقوقهم العلمية.
وشدد على أن مصر تمتلك قطاعًا خاصًا قويًا، ومجموعة واسعة من المراكز البحثية، ويمكن تحقيق تضافر الجهود بين القطاعين الخاص والعام لتحقيق التنمية المستدامة إذا توفرت الإرادة لتنفيذ هذا النموذج على كافة القطاعات الاقتصادية وتحويل الإمكانات المحلية إلى قوة تنافسية عالمية”.
