Fort McCoy Highlights Economic Contributions at Monroe County Meeting

Representatives from Fort McCoy attended the June 12 meeting of the Monroe County Economic Development and Tourism Committee in Sparta, Wisconsin. Shawn Quinn, Fort McCoy’s Information Management Officer, presented data showing the installation’s economic impact for fiscal year 2024, estimated at $1.6 billion, up from $1.38 billion in 2023. The report highlighted workforce payroll, operating costs, and expenditures totaling over $398 million. Approximately 66% of Fort McCoy’s workforce resides within Monroe County, contributing significantly to the local economy. Following the meeting, attendees toured the Cardinal Glass facility in Tomah to learn about its operations. Fort McCoy, located in Wisconsin, serves as a key U.S. Army training center and supports over 100,000 military personnel annually.
