Governor Landry Launches New Programs to Boost Louisiana’s Business Environment

Governor Jeff Landry introduced four new programs designed to enhance economic growth and improve the business landscape in Louisiana. The first initiative, named Source Louisiana, is an online platform enabling local companies to present their qualifications, certifications, and service capacities to potential partners and state-funded projects.

“Local enterprises can now highlight their strengths and connect with emerging opportunities tied to major developments across the state,” Landry explained.

The second effort, the Driving Louisiana Opportunity Tour, will see Economic Development Secretary Susan Bourgeois engaging directly with business leaders across various regions. Unlike traditional listening tours, this initiative emphasizes actionable outcomes.

“It’s about hearing from those who create jobs and lead industries, then actively connecting them to resources and policies that support expansion,” Landry said.

The third program, dubbed Project Lightning Speed, aims to accelerate project approvals by reducing bureaucratic delays. The goal is to align government processes with the pace of private-sector operations.

“We’re breaking down internal barriers and simplifying decision-making so that projects advance quickly and efficiently,” the governor noted.

The fourth initiative encourages state-funded ventures to prioritize contracts with Louisiana-based firms, reinforcing local economic participation. By linking incentive eligibility to local hiring and sourcing, the policy supports homegrown businesses and strengthens regional supply chains.
