Kosovo’s Economic Growth Forecast Amid New Budget Plans

Lulzim Rafuna, President of the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce (KKC), described the upcoming year’s budget as “historic” and noted that since 2008, Kosovo has seen an annual increase in its budget. However, he expressed skepticism about whether planned capital investments, which exceed one million euros, will be fully implemented. \nThe focus remains on the budget structure, particularly on areas receiving the largest increases. According to Rafuna, capital investments are crucial, but doubts linger over their execution. Despite this, Kosovo is not expected to deplete its state reserves, with economic growth projected at 3.5% to 4% for 2023, as reported by EO. \nRafuna dismissed the possibility of a deep economic crisis, citing falling oil derivative prices. However, he acknowledged significant challenges for local businesses, including electricity shortages, labor scarcity, and inflationary pressures. \n— new from Insajderi
