The Moroccan government has projected that the country’s economic growth rate will accelerate to 4.5 percent in the current year (2025), driven by “continuous improvement in non-agricultural activities for the third consecutive year.”
Minister of Economy and Finance Nadia Fettah emphasized during a government council presentation that the administration remains committed to implementing its reform agenda within a comprehensive development framework. This approach aims to align public policies with a set of interconnected strategic priorities, particularly strengthening the foundations of the social state. Key initiatives include completing the expansion of social protection, ensuring its effectiveness and sustainability, reforming the healthcare system, boosting investment, and creating employment opportunities.
Fettah also highlighted the current international context, noting that it remains marked by persistent uncertainty amid ongoing and intensifying geopolitical tensions, as well as a slowdown in global economic growth.
Regarding the implementation of the 2025 finance law, the minister affirmed that the government, based on economic projections for the remainder of the year, is determined to continue and intensify efforts to mobilize resources. Additionally, close monitoring of expenditure execution will be maintained with the objective of achieving the targeted budget deficit of 3.5 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) as outlined in the 2025 finance law.
