An Orthodox Jewish passenger, Yisroel Liebb, has filed a lawsuit against United Airlines and the US Department of Homeland Security. According to the lawsuit, during a flight from Tulum, Mexico, to Houston, Liebb was forcibly removed from an airplane bathroom by a pilot while experiencing constipation, which resulted in his genitalia being exposed to other passengers. Liebb and a fellow Orthodox Jewish traveler claim the pilot made derogatory remarks about their faith. Upon landing, they allege that Homeland Security officers boarded the plane and took them away in handcuffs, causing them to miss a connecting flight to New York City. They were reportedly paraded through an airport terminal, placed in holding cells, and had their luggage searched by US Customs and Border Protection officers. A CBP Assistant Commissioner stated that CBP officers responded to reports of a disturbance on the flight at the airline’s request but could not provide further comment due to ongoing litigation. United Airlines has declined to comment. — news from South China Morning Post
