To demonstrate regional engagement, Pakistan recently hosted a trade exhibition in Cairo targeting several African countries, signaling growing interest in expanding its commercial footprint. The ambassador also pointed to the Developing-8 (D-8) Organization of Islamic Cooperation as a platform for enhancing economic coordination among developing Muslim-majority nations. He stressed the importance of reducing both tariff and non-tariff barriers, leveraging halal product markets, and involving private sectors under governmental support to unlock mutual business opportunities.
Furthermore, he underscored Pakistan’s balanced foreign policy, maintaining strong relations with all partners—including Arab states, Western countries, China, the United States, and Russia—without compromising one relationship for another.
