Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Egypt’s Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, participated in a high-level panel discussion titled “Where Does the Belt and Road Initiative Stand in 2025?” during the World Economic Forum meetings in Tianjin, China. The event, held from June 23-26, 2025, brought together policymakers, private sector leaders, and entrepreneurs from over 90 countries.
Dr. Al-Mashat highlighted the importance of international partnerships based on mutual interests, noting that more than 150 companies are investing in Egypt’s Chinese industrial zone across various sectors. She emphasized that the Belt and Road Initiative has been a catalyst for national strategies, supporting sustainable infrastructure projects in transport, renewable energy, and ports.
The minister also discussed Egypt’s strategic relations with China, which have grown significantly since the historic visit of the Chinese president to Egypt in 2014. These relations focus on investment and development cooperation, including projects in health, satellite technology, and capacity building.
Dr. Al-Mashat stressed that the initiative is a flexible framework adaptable to each country’s priorities, not a centrally planned mandate. She also touched on global financing challenges, highlighting the need to reduce reliance on debt and mobilize private sector resources for developmental projects.

أكثر من 150 شركة تستثمر بالمنطقة الصناعية الصينية في مصر في قطاعات متعددة شاركت الدكتورة رانيا المشاط، وزيرة التخطيط والتنمية الاقتصادية والتعاون الدولي، بالجلسة النقاشية رفيعة المستوى بعنوان «أين وصلت مبادرة الحزام والطريق في عام 2025؟»؛ وذلك خلال مشاركتها كرئيس مُشارك باجتماعات المنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي والتي تنعقد في الفترة من 23-26 يونيو 2025، تحت عنوان «السياسات الاقتصادية المرنة لمواكبة التغييرات العالمية»، بمدينة “تيانجين” الصينية، بمشاركة رفيعة المستوى من صنّاع السياسات، وقادة القطاع الخاص، ورواد الأعمال من أكثر من 90 دولة. وأوضحت المشاط، أن الشراكات الدولية تُبنى دائمًا على المصالح المشتركة والمتبادلة، مضيفة أن عدد الدول المشاركة في مبادرة الحزام والطريق، يعكس مدى أهمية تلك المبادرة، مشيرة إلى الاحتفال خلال العام الماضي بمرور 10 سنوات على إطلاق المبادرة، حيث قامت الدول المشاركة بعرض المشروعات التي يتم تنفيذها في إطار مبادرة الحزام والطريق، والتي كانت تدعم البنية التحتية المستدامة، سواءً في مجالات النقل أو الطاقة المتجددة أو الموانئ، متابعة أن كل مشروع من تلك المشروعات يعكس الأولويات الوطنية للدول، وفيما يخص مصر فقد كانت المشروعات متسقة مع الأجندة الوطنية والأهداف الاستراتيجية للدولة.
