The Saudi Ministry of Investment has announced the organization of the Syrian-Saudi Investment Forum 2025 in Damascus, with broad participation from both public and private sector representatives. The forum aims to explore cooperation opportunities and sign agreements that promote sustainable development and serve the mutual interests of both nations.
The ministry stated in its official release that it has facilitated travel permits for Saudi and Syrian businesspeople and investors, allowing them to exchange visits and explore investment opportunities in both countries. This step follows the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Syria and continuing efforts by the Saudi leadership to support Syria’s stability and economic recovery, in line with directives from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Chairman of the Council of Ministers.
In preparation for the forum, the ministry has worked to activate the role of the Saudi private sector, including identifying companies interested in investing in Syria and organizing a series of workshops. In coordination with the Union of Chambers, the ministry is arranging a working visit to Syria with a large delegation from both the public sector and private companies. During the visit, the ministry will collaborate with relevant Saudi and Syrian authorities to facilitate the exploration of investment opportunities and remove obstacles for investors.
Earlier, Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharq met with a Saudi business delegation led by Mohamed Abunayan, Chairman of ACWA Power, and Suleiman Al-Muhaidib, Chairman of Al-Muhaidib Group, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral ties. The discussions focused on ways to enhance economic and investment cooperation between the two countries and explore avenues for developing bilateral partnerships across various sectors.
The Saudi Embassy in Damascus announced the availability of travel permits for Saudi and Syrian businesspeople and investors, allowing them to exchange visits and explore investment opportunities in both countries. This marks a reversal of the 2015 travel ban imposed by Saudi Arabia on travel to Syria due to the prevailing conditions at that time.
On the sidelines of the Saudi economic delegation’s visit, Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry, Mohammad Al-Sha’ar, stated that Syria’s investment environment has become conducive for both local and foreign investments thanks to the new investment law, which provides an encouraging legal framework that supports investors and enhances the role of the private sector in reconstruction and economic development.

أعلنت وزارة الاستثمار السعودية عن u200fإتاحة تراخيص السفر للراغبين من رجال الأعمال والمستثمرين السعوديين والسوريين بما يسمح لهم تبادل الزيارات واستكشاف الفرص الاستثمارية في البلدين.
كما تعتزم الوزارة تنظّيم منتدى الاستثمار السوري السعودي 2025 في دمشق، بمشاركة واسعة من القطاعين العام والخاص، ويهدف إلى استكشاف فرص التعاون وتوقيع اتفاقيات تعزز التنمية المستدامة وتخدم مصالح الشعبين الشقيقين.
وذكرت الوزارة في بيان أن هذه الخطوة تأتي بناءً على حرص المملكة العربية السعودية على تعزيز أواصر العلاقات الثنائية مع الجمهورية العربية السورية، واستمراراً للجهود التي تبذلها قيادة المملكة لدعم سوريا بما يسهم في استقرارها، ولتعافي اقتصادها وتعزيز مصالح شعبها،وبناءً على توجيهات الأمير محمد بن سلمان، ولي العهد، رئيس مجلس الوزراء.
وبناءً على ذلك قامت وزارة الاستثمار بالعمل على تفعيل دور القطاع الخاص السعودي وتمكينه، بما في ذلك حصر الشركات الراغبة في الاستثمار في سوريا، وتنظيم عدد من ورش العمل.
واستكمالاً لهذه الجهود، وبالتنسيق مع اتحاد الغرف، ترتب الوزارة زيارة عمل إلى سوريا بمشاركة وفد كبير من القطاع العام وشركات القطاع الخاص حيث ستعمل الوزارة، بالتعاون مع الجهات المعنية في المملكة والحكومة السورية، على تسهيل خطوات استكشاف الفرص الاستثمارية وتذليل العقبات، بما يحقق المصلحة المشتركة للبلدين والمستثمرين كما سيتم عقد منتدى استثماري في دمشق خلال الزيارة وإعلان عدد من الصفقات والمشاريع المشتركة ومذكرات التفاهم لاستكشاف الفرص.
وفي وقت سابق استقبل الرئيس السوري أحمد الشرع، اليوم الثلاثاء وفداً سعودياً من رجال الأعمال برئاسة محمد أبو نيان، رئيس مجلس إدارة شركة أكوا باور، وسليمان المهيدب،رئيس مجلس إدارة مجموعة المهيدب، في إطار الجهود المشتركة لتعزيز العلاقات الثنائية.
وناقش الطرفان سبل تعزيز التعاون الاقتصادي والاستثماري بين البلدين، وآفاق سبل تطوير الشراكات الثنائية في عدة مجالات، بما يخدم المصالح المشتركة ويدعم جهود التنمية في المرحلة المقبلة.
وأعلنت السفارة السعودية في دمشق عن إتاحة تراخيص السفر للراغبين من رجال الأعمال والمستثمرين السعوديين والسوريين بما يسمح لهم بتبادل الزيارات واستكشاف الفرص الاستثمارية في البلدين الشقيقين.

وكانت السعودية أصدرت منعا لسفر مواطنيها الى سوريا في العام 2015 بناءً على سوء الأوضاع الدائرة في ذلك الوقت.
وعلى هامش زيارة الوفد الاقتصادي السعودي إلى سوريا قال وزير الاقتصاد والصناعة السوري، محمد الشعار، إن بيئة الاستثمار في سوريا أصبحت مهيأة لاستقبال الاستثمارات المحلية والخارجية، بفضل قانون الاستثمار الجديد الذي يوفّر بيئة قانونية محفزة وجاذبة تدعم المستثمرين وتعزز دور القطاع الخاص في إعادة الإعمار والتنمية الاقتصادية.
