The head of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand (TECOT), Peter Sha-Li Lan, led a team to Hat Yai on Saturday to deliver financial support to Taiwanese entrepreneurs impacted by recent widespread flooding. Accompanied by his wife, Lan visited the southern Thai city, still recovering from the disaster, and handed over US$50,000 in assistance to members of the local Taiwanese business community. n nThe funds were formally accepted by Chiu Ying-hua, head of the Southern Region Taiwanese Business Operators Club. Lan emphasized that the money aims to accelerate recovery efforts for affected enterprises, noting that properties including homes, retail outlets, and manufacturing facilities sustained significant damage, though no casualties were reported among the community. n nHe also highlighted contributions from Taiwanese residents in Thailand, businesspeople, and members of the overseas Chinese population, all of whom donated toward relief. These contributions were coordinated through four key associations: the Chinese Association in Thailand (Chong Hua), the Taiwan Association of Thailand, the Thai–Taiwan Business Association, and the Overseas Chinese Association of Thailand.
