UAE Economic Integration Committee Reviews 2024 Performance

The Economic Integration Committee held its fourth meeting of 2025, chaired by Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, with the participation of Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, and directors of local economic development departments from across the UAE. The committee reviewed the positive outcomes achieved by the national economy in 2024, highlighting its role in enhancing economic diversification and the competitiveness of the business and investment environment. The non-oil GDP grew by 5%, reaching AED 1.34 trillion, with non-oil sectors contributing 75.5% to the GDP, reflecting the success of the UAE’s economic diversification policies. The committee also discussed updates on cooperation plans between federal and local entities to develop economic legislation, crucial for the UAE’s transition to a knowledge and innovation-based economic model. Efforts to combat money laundering and terrorism financing were highlighted as key to boosting the UAE’s international economic reputation.
