KUWAIT, Aug 18 (KUNA) — The Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) has finalized a contract with Future Integrated Technologies for Communications Equipment Company to deploy the Automated Spectrum Monitoring and Analysis System, a nationwide initiative designed to modernize radio frequency oversight in Kuwait.
According to a CITRA statement, the project underscores its mission to maintain strict oversight across all radio frequency bands, accurately detect unauthorized transmissions, and locate sources of harmful interference. This will support efficient use of the electromagnetic spectrum in alignment with international standards and technological advancements.
The initiative aims to improve network performance through consistent on-site assessments and sophisticated data analytics, while enabling real-time surveillance to promptly address regulatory breaches.
Additional goals include boosting regulatory enforcement and adherence to licensing terms, ensuring long-term sustainability of spectrum assets, and establishing a centralized monitoring hub equipped with fixed and mobile detection units, portable devices, and tools for evaluating telecom service quality. The system will extend coverage to all populated and border regions, ensuring nationwide surveillance effectiveness.
This advancement is expected to significantly strengthen CITRA’s ability to minimize service disruptions caused by interference or illegal operations, benefiting both telecommunications providers and consumers.
