KUWAIT, June 17 (KUNA) — In response to regional instability, the Kuwaiti Cabinet reviewed measures to ensure sufficient medical and food supplies. During its weekly meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Cabinet heard from Health Minister Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi about hospital readiness and from Commerce Minister Khalifa Al-Ajeel on food security. The Cabinet also celebrated the Islamic New Year and reviewed development projects, including the Kuwait International Airport’s new terminal, which earned a gold LEED certification. Additionally, discussions covered the Northern Economic Zone, including Boubyan and Failaka Islands, which aim to boost non-oil revenues. The Cabinet approved a draft decree-law on combating money laundering and terror financing, reflecting Kuwait’s commitment to UN resolutions.
