KUWAIT, July 1 (KUNA) — Kuwait has been awarded the hosting rights for the 2026 International Sports Press Association (AIPS) Asia Congress after securing the majority vote during a meeting held on Tuesday in Hong Kong, China.
Sattam Al-Sahali, Head of Sports Media at the Kuwaiti Olympic Committee, and committee member Khalil Nadoom represented Kuwait during the event bidding process.
In a statement to KUNA, Al-Sahali emphasized Kuwait’s ability to successfully organize major international conferences and sporting events.
He also thanked the Minister of Information, Culture, and State Minister for Youth Affairs, Abdurrahman Al-Mutairi, for his continuous support for sports journalism and his key contribution to Kuwait’s successful bid to host the congress.
