1965 — Mashaan Khudhair Al-Mashaan died at the age of 73. He was a member of the Al-Ay’an (noble) council in 1920, a member of the legislative council in 1921, and a member of the municipal council in 1932. He also served in the first and second Legislative Councils (1938), and was a member of the Ma’aref (education) council in 1936. Al-Mashaan was the first head of the financial administration in 1938. He was also part of the committee that drafted Kuwait’s electoral law, co-founded the first national airline, and contributed to the establishment of the Ahmadiya School. A noted philanthropist, his legacy remains influential in Kuwaiti society.
1972 — The Kuwaiti government issued a resolution granting priority to local products and services in state tenders, provided they met Kuwaiti quality standards. This policy aimed to boost domestic industries and reduce reliance on foreign imports.
