Total Lunar Eclipse Visible in Kuwait on September 7

KUWAIT, Aug 19 (KUNA) — The Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Center announced that a total lunar eclipse will be observable in Kuwait on Sunday, September 7. According to the center, the event will occur during the full moon phase when the Moon passes entirely into Earth’s shadow.

The phenomenon will be visible across the Gulf, as well as in parts of Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. The eclipse will unfold in three stages: the partial phase, during which a portion of the Moon enters the Earth’s umbra; the total phase, where the entire lunar surface is covered and takes on a reddish-orange hue due to sunlight refracted through Earth’s atmosphere; and the penumbral phase, where the Moon moves through the outer edge of Earth’s shadow, causing a subtle dimming.

Based on the center’s astronomical calculations, the eclipse will begin in Kuwait at 6:28 pm local time, reach maximum coverage at 11:09 pm, and conclude at 11:55 pm. The event offers a significant opportunity for public observation and educational outreach on celestial mechanics.

ASCC: Kuwait to witness total lunar eclipse on Sept. 7
KUWAIT, Aug 19 (KUNA) — The Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Center announced that Kuwait will witness a total lunar eclipse on Sunday, September 7. nIn a statement to KUNA, the center said the eclipse will occur during the full moon, when the Earth’s shadow completely covers the lunar disk. The phenomenon will also be visible across the Gulf region, as well as parts of Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. nThe center explained that the eclipse will pass through three phases: partial, when part of the moon enters Earth’s shadow; total, when the entire moon is obscured and turns reddish-orange due to atmospheric light refraction; and penumbral, when the moon only passes through the Earth’s outer shadow, dimming its brightness without full obscuration. nAccording to the center’s calculations, the eclipse will begin in Kuwait at 6:28 pm, reach its peak at 11:09 pm, and end at 11:55 pm local time.
