BRE Committee Visits Upgraded Powell Hall in St. Louis

On October 8, the Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) committee toured the recently renovated Powell Hall in midtown St. Louis, following its reopening to the public in September after a $140 million expansion and modernization project. The historic venue, home to the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, now features upgraded entrances, expanded concession areas, additional restrooms, enhanced retail space, and a new café. n nMusicians will also benefit from the improvements, which include new lounges, practice rooms, an education center, and improved instrument storage facilities. The upgrades aim to enhance both audience experience and operational efficiency for performers. n nThe BRE committee serves as a liaison between local businesses and government and economic development agencies. Its mission is to ensure entrepreneurs, business leaders, and company owners are aware of available resources and support channels for navigating opportunities and challenges. Renovation, expansion reopened to public in September n nThe Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) committee met on Oct. 8 to tour the renovated space of Powell Hall in midtown St. Louis. Home to the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Powell Hall completed its $140 million expansion project in September and reopened to the public. n nThe committee had the opportunity to see the upgrades to the 100-year-old music center, which include new and improved entrances, additional concession areas and restrooms, enhanced retail space and a new café. The expansion will also benefit the musicians with new lounges, practice rooms, an education center and better instrument storage. n nThe BRE committee connects St. Louis companies with government and economic development officials to ensure business owners, leaders and entrepreneurs know who to contact regarding opportunities or challenges.
