Elon Musk has decreased his physical presence at the White House as he prepares to step down from his role within the Trump administration. Although no longer regularly working from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) offices, Musk remains involved through phone communications with White House officials.
White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles stated that while Musk’s physical presence has diminished, his commitment to the administration’s initiatives has not. Musk’s team at DOGE will continue operations in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building near the West Wing.
Musk is expected to officially step down in May, aligning with his status as a “special government employee” limited to 130 days of work for the government annually. Despite stepping back, Musk plans to allocate a couple of days each week to DOGE activities, focusing more on his businesses like Tesla.
