Google Offers Buyouts to Employees in Cost-Cutting Measures

Google has extended buyout offers to employees across several divisions as part of its ongoing cost-cutting initiatives. Although the exact number of affected employees is unclear, reports indicate that staff in Google’s search, advertising, research, and engineering units have received these offers. A Google spokesperson, Courtenay Mencini, stated that earlier this year, some teams introduced a voluntary exit program with severance for U.S.-based employees. Additionally, some teams are requesting remote workers living near an office to return to a hybrid work schedule to enhance in-person collaboration.
