Peter Rawlinson, the founder and CEO of Lucid Motors, is stepping down from his role as CEO but will remain with the company as a Strategic Technical Advisor to the Chairman of the Board. Marc Winterhoff, the company’s chief operating officer, will serve as interim CEO while a search for a new leader begins. Rawlinson’s decision comes after the successful launch of the Lucid Gravity, an SUV that the company hopes will help it double production to 20,000 vehicles in 2025. Lucid reported a net loss of $636.9 million in Q4 but remains optimistic, backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, which invested $2.5 billion last year. The Gravity offers up to 440 miles of range, 800 horsepower, and compatibility with Tesla’s Supercharger network. — news from The Verge
